Agile Body of Knowledge was created by a signatory to the Agile Manifesto to promote the growth of Agile, to prevent the commercialization of the knowledge and principles, and to ensure that tacit knowledge within the community is freely available to all who desire to learn.

The Twelve Principles of the Agile Body of Knowledge

  1. The Agile Body of Knowledge will uphold the principles and spirit of the Agile Manifesto
  2. The Agile Body of Knowledge will remain iterative
  3. The Agile Body of Knowledge should be quickly adaptable to reflect changes in Agile Methodology
  4. The Agile Body of Knowledge should be controlled by the larger Agile community, rather than one individual or corporation
  5. The Agile Body of Knowledge will respect new ideas and methodologies and will not be controlled by a small group of thought leaders
  6. The Agile Body of Knowledge will remain open-sourced and will draw its content from the larger Agile community
  7. The Agile Body of Knowledge will be freely available to all members of the community
  8. The Agile Body of Knowledge will allow for discussions around conflicting viewpoints
  9. The Agile Body of Knowledge will not prescribe a "right way" of doing things but will promote options that uphold the spirit of the Agile Manifesto
  10. The Agile Body of Knowledge will allow for the development of new processes and methodologies
  11. The Agile Body of Knowledge community members will show respect to all members of the community
  12. The Agile Body of Knowledge will continue to promote the principles and spirit of the Agile Manifesto
